Lemon Grass + attractive people = good time

Last night Midnight Makeout attended an open bar event at Lemon Grass Thai Restaurant. Lemon Grass is located in New City, New York and has amble parking because of the huge parking lot in the complex(which was sooo nice since it was drizzling rain). As we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a super friendly, not overly aggressive bouncer. We actually have seen him out at a few live band events in Nyack, New York. It was nice to be recognized right away (lol). The lighting at Lemon Grass is really awesome. The center of the restaurant has a blue rectangle light on the ceiling…it is a reallly pretty blue. There is a rectangle section that is squared off in the middle with beautiful salt water fish tanks. All four are nicely stocked with huge, very colorful fish. It really gives off a nice glow and adds to the “under the sea” feel. Around this section there are tables set up for dinner. Lemon Grass has an amazing menu (especially if you are a vegetarian). The open bar was only $25 and you were allowed to order whatever drink you wanted. The drinks were served in very classy glasses and prepared by a very attentive and professional bartender. He was very busy the whole night but never once did he screw up any of our drinks. The music was house and trance. BUT do not hate because the music was realllly reallly good. I am not a huge fan of house and trance and I really enjoyed it. The crowd was very social & fun. My friend Lauren & I were even given oranges by two guys as they were leaving. And a waiter put rice chips on our table. (by the way thank you to Giovanni for finding out they were rice chips and vegetarian friendly). It wasn’t your typical rowdy and drama filled bar scene. We were there from 11pm to 1:30am and not once was the bouncer needed. If he was… they definitely did not make a scene of it at all.
I would really like to enjoy dinner at Lemon Grass but unfortunately thai food is made, prepared and garnished with lots of peanuts and I suffer from a very bad peanut allergy. A HUGE thank you is sent out to Brian Healey for there were no peanuts to be found when I arrived & I did not need my epi pen or a benedryl the entire night.
If your looking for a classy evening, with little drama, attractive people & a great bartender…LEMON GRASS THAI RESTAURANT in New City is the place for you.
