Iphone vs. Blackberry who would win in a fight?

Writing by Jessica on Monday, 13 of April , 2009 at 9:38 am

iphoneblackberry

I’ve been a blackberry fan/user for about a year now. I could rattle off tons of stuff that my blackberry pearl can do and how awesome blackberry messenger is…until now.

My blackberry pearl started giving me trouble two months ago. It started when it would just randomly delete texts. Then it started deleting important emails out of nowhere. Now… it is deleting contacts from my address book and my recent call list. So now nothing is safe if it is on my phone because at any given moment it can just delete it. (Even when saved!!). I thought it was just the pearl until someone I know who has a curve started having the same issue!

So as of yesterday I have joined the At&t network and bought an Iphone 3G. I am burying my blackberry somewhere deep in my closet and hopefully one night it doesnt grow legs and try and strangle me & my new Iphone in my sleep (considering the damn thing has a mind of it’s own already).

I was really on the fence about the Iphone and was actually considering going to Verizon so I could get the Blackberry storm. But then I realized…”why should I spend my hard earned cash on another product made by the same company that makes the pearl that is seriously f’ing-ml right now”. But there were a few down sides to the Iphone… the fact that you can’t get insurance on it. And I am proned to dropping..throwing…abusing my phone.  I know of a bunch of people who have dropped it at work on the marble floors and it shattered right down the middle of the screen. It is touch screen and with nails I wasn’t sure texting and working the Iphone would really work too well. But after some investigation I realized it’s not that bad and according to another friend of mine “…it’s awesome you can even do it when you’re drunk it corrects any misspelled words.”

I also know of someone who was not satisfied with the At&t customer service at all… so I was scared that switching I might go from a great company (but shitty phone) to a shitty company (but awesome phone). But it wasn’t that bad at all. I joined online.  Joining for me required no deposit to get it (apparently they run a credit check and some people need to put money down when buying an Iphone). I kept my number and my new phone should be here on Wednesday.  Everything went so smoothly. At&t customer service was very helpful and answered all my questions.

Now that I have officially joined the Iphone madness I am so mad that I didn’t get it awhile ago. (Before blackberry) because of the awesome applications you can get on it. There’s wayyy more applications for the Iphone than for the blackberry. Here is a list of the applications I cannot wait to try out (or just think are very amusing)…

The “shot gun” constitution

The bug zapper

goMovies

Flashlight LED

iPhlickr

The list goes on and on… I really hope the Iphone doesn’t disappoint me. I have high expectations. But just like my great friend Erin said about my ex boyfriend… “A male prostitute would be better than him”… Im thinking the same about my new Iphone… ANYTHING is better than this unreliable piece of shit.

Although, something tells me if the Blackberry was to fight the Iphone… it would pick up a folding chair ghetto style and CHEAT. My $ is on the Iphone though… something about having morals and fighting fair that makes me believe there is good in this world. GO IPHONE!!!

Segway Teams Up with GM to produce THE PUMA (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility), waste of tax payers money

Writing by Blunt truth on Thursday, 9 of April , 2009 at 7:36 am

gm-segway-puma-2

On Tuesday GM began testing of the Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility (PUMA) on the streets of New York City. The concept of this vehicle is rather interesting crossing a Segway with a traditional enclosed vehicle cockpit. The Puma (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility) has a top speed of 35 mph and a range of 35 mph. This vehicle was designed to reduce or even eliminate “traffic” and reduce emissions.

gm-puma-segway

ONE problem it’s a waste of MONEY. Why? Very simple what would happen if the Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility (PUMA) zipped through the streets and ran into the big bad SUV, which that it’s trying to replace? I own an Expedition; the blind spots on that car can fit a BMW 3 series. The puma with its small will get ran over in a New York minute. The other issue with how safe is it overall; the puma cannot go against other vehicles and if it goes on the sidewalks then people will get injured. There is no place for the Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility in NYC. Why did they have to develop it? There is no need! How about spending all that money on GREEN TECH or even MARKETING, shocking isn’t it? Spending money on Marketing to SELL your Vehicles. But, hey as always it not there money it’s your money and they don’t really care because they already have it.

Lastly, that thing in the back wtf, a rabbit’s tail? Oh sorry a PUMA tail that’s why they called it that.

MidnightMakeout met up with Overtimenyc.com at the Taj Lounge in New York City on Thursday April 2nd. Taj lounge is a very sexy Indian-influenced lounge that allows you to forget the NYC hustle and bustle going on outside. There was a very nice guy-girl ratio at this Overtime event.   The open vodka bar is what makes it. It is what drew people to the event & the sole reason for the easy socializing. The price is a bargain $10 for women & $20 for men. Anyone can afford that but this event did not attract anyone who would not be considered “classy” or “well educated” or atleast “hot”. There were a group of girls sitting/standing around waiting for guys to talk to them.  Although, I am positively 100% sure if they didn’t look like they were packing heat or sharp objects in their tiny purses….the guys at the event would have approached them AND they would have had a much better time. The music was good & wasn’t too loud. When I worked the crowd I met with women and men who worked in law, finance, IT and marketing. If you are looking for a place to mingle that does not cost a lot then I would recommend going to an overtimenyc.com event. But please ladies check  your sharp objects, deadly stares & bad attitudes at coat check for you will have a much better time without them. I promise.

But check it out…. these people really were enjoying themselves. Pictures do not lie…. Join overtimenyc.com at their next event.

Heart attack on a bun… please!!!!!

The Grand Rapids minor league team the West Michigan Whitecaps are selling a FOUR pound burger this season. There are dietiticans looking to put a warning label on the monster burger. The burger cost $20 and the team spokesman has said they have not made a decision about labeling the burger due to it’s very unhealthy portion and contents.  Apparently, eating this burger you have an increased risk of cancer and heart disease. Grrrreat just another thing to give us cancer. I think I can eat this in one sitting. Who wants a West Michigan Whitecaps four pound burger??

yummmy

LOOKS YUMMMMMY!!!!!! AND TOTALLY A BARGAIN FOR 20 BUCKS!!

Bill Orielly Sean Penn comment

So Bill O’Reilly has come forward saying that he doesn’t support Sean Penn because Sean Penn supported Suddam Hussein. Bill claims he will not spend any money on Sean’s movies.

If I were a betting gal… my money is on Bill. No way would I ever support Saddam Hussein. Sean Penn can go move to a country ruled under a dictatorship and live it, learn it & LOVE it.

GO BILL!!! and I love freedom of speech! Kudos to Bill for having the guts to say that he doesnt like Sean Penn.

But if these two were gonna fight my $$ cashhhh moneyyyyy $$ is on Bill. He has more anger in him. Sean Penn can go play hop scotch with Saddam.

Bill O’Reilly fights Sean Penn with his words

The NEW Ipod shuffle, when aold trick comes back in new packaging

Writing by Blunt truth on Monday, 23 of March , 2009 at 3:26 pm

Ipod shuffle

Ipod shuffle

A few weeks ago was the official release of the new iPod Shuffle. It looks great, smaller, smarter, and has new functions. But, in my opinion what makes it new also makes it a bad buy. The main issue I have is that they removed all the buttons from the player itself and placed them onto the head phones. A stupid innovation on Apples behalf if I can say so myself, due to the fact that headphones are notorious for failure. I am sure this was planned and replacements headphones will be around 30 to 40 dollars. EXTRA MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS. No one will say this but it is true. Go apple marketing right? This is not the first or last time apple will do this! Does everyone remember the ipod battery that died after 2 months and to top it off your warranty did not cover a new one. BAM 80 bucks out of your pocket. When will we learn? Go with a sony walkman mp3 same size same everything but you don’t need to covert, you can charge from any usb port and to top it off the headphones are the regular ones that work great. BUT hey we are all blind and will buy whatever bs apple will feeds the masses. Just because it’s a new shiny package everyone will thinks it is great……. This happens of often to the American people that it is not even funny. No one pays attention to things that go on behind what we are sold to as the truth. I will post topics like this every now and then come back and read up! The rest of the writers are great too!

Stick it to them… no they stuck it to us!

Writing by Crazy Stacy on Thursday, 19 of March , 2009 at 2:12 pm

So apparently there is a plan to tax the bonuses given out to the AIG creeps.  Somehow after reading this article I feel like we don’t have the resources etc… to even get this tax thing right.  They got rich off of our money. That is the truth and we have to accept it.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090319/ap_on_go_co/aig_outrage

Hey Jess,

I dont think Congress got to stick it to AIG with no lube. I think AIG stuck it to the American taxpayers with no lube and did I mention no consent?

Congress should go to town on AIG with no lube!

Writing by Jessica on Wednesday, 18 of March , 2009 at 9:54 am

AIG executives were given millions of dollars through their “bailout” money.  First thing that comes to my mind is that “congress should go to town on AIG with no lube”. A few other friends of mine added “It is because of @$$holes like them that I am unemployed” and “It was a nice kick to the american people’s gonads” …..

what is on your mind when it comes to AIG situation? be honest no need to sugar coat it. They stole YOUR money that was meant to help the company stay around and they are going to be living in beautiful mansions somewhere in Europe and you’re still wondering how you can afford to go on a vacation this summer OR how you’re gonna find a job.

I want to hear your outrage America!!!!!!! AND if I couldn’t get your rage flowing maybe this video can…

Ambitious or just plain ridiculous??

Writing by Jessica on Monday, 9 of March , 2009 at 1:20 pm

pamphletsfor-saleEver since I could remember I always had some kind of business plan. I was forever searching for the next big way to make a buck. There was a time my best friend and I went to a local tourist station and took all the free pamphlets. We dragged them in bags that were breaking a few miles to my grand mother’s house. We set them up in the front yard in neat piles with rocks on top of them to keep them from blowing away in the wind. Ya know, we didn’t need our “investment” getting away from us after all that hard work. We sat there for what I am sure were a few hours. One guy stopped to check out what we were selling. I believe we had some sort of clever chant that we would scream at cars passing by. Looking back, I think he might have just been a creeper, pedophile type of dude. He took his time looking at each pamphlet… lifted each rock. We were selling for like .50 cents each even though some of them had FREE clearly printed on their covers. He really took his time standing around with us and he didn’t ask any questions regarding the pamphlets. He just looked at us, the pamphlets and got back in his car and drove off.

Can you look back on your precious childhood memories and reminisce of times when you dreamed of making money? Did you actually act it out like we did? Or is this just some crazy scheme that we had that really put us out of the norm? haha.
